Volunteer Fair June 1st 2011

Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they’re
worthless, but because they’re priceless
(Sherry Anderson)

We could not begin to count up how many hours are given in a voluntary capacity by the people at Marham and the surrounding area, but on the 1st June we did catch a glimpse of fantastic activities that happen here just because people volunteer.

A thank you by way of a lunch was given to all volunteers in the

Bull and Bowl on Tuesday 7th June.

One of the agencies that attended the fair was the Swaffham Museum who have ‘Swaffham: Within Living Memory’ an exciting new Heritage Lottery funded project to collect the stories of Swaffham’s people, buildings and events,  from 1930 to 2010.

It will form an archive of recorded memories and permanent display in the museum.

Everyone has a unique story to tell about their lives.

What’s yours?

The museum are particularly interested in listening to the experiences of people within the area of Marham, they want to collect your stories from the mundane to the momentous, to form an archive of Swaffham voices.

To tell your story contact Sian Hogarth, Heritage Development Officer, on 01760 721230 or email
